Private day tours can be booked any day except Sundays, which is when we do our local "Outlander" walking tour.
Our whisky experience day tour from Edinburgh.
TOUR ITINERARY – (this is very flexible and hassle free)
Be collected from your Edinburgh hotel at 0800 or leave from Parkhead House after breakfast.
We will do our best to visit two amazing distilleries in one day!
As we go where tour buses rarely fear to tread you will escape the city and discover the gateway to the highlands of your dreams.
We will take you on the roads that will showcase the dramatic scenery of Scotland, but as we only offer luxury trips to individuals and small groups you really are in charge and can choose to change your experience to make the day your own. You may wish to see something special or an ancestor’s home perhaps?
On this tour we plan to visit, Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, and Edradour, Scotland’s smallest distillery.
On your journey to Aberfoyle we will pass, The Kelpies, historical Stirling Castle, and the Wallace Monument.
Dewar’s Distillery in Aberfoyle is where the world’s most rewarded and Americas top selling blended whisky is made. We will go on a distillery tour here and learn all there is to know about this amazing drink. (I know it’s still morning, but you do get a taste!) After the tour, we head over to the Queen’s View and/or House of Bruar for lunch and enjoy the glorious views as we make our way through the Scottish countryside.
In the afternoon, we visit Edradour Distillery near Pitlochry. This is the smallest single malt whisky distillery in Scotland, and it stands alone as the last stronghold of handmade single malt whisky. Immerse yourself in learning the history of whisky here.
On our way back to your hotel or Parkhead House, you may wish to spend some time in Pitlochry. This is a great place to end your day with some traditional Scottish cuisine, to take in the scenic views of the loch and visit the Salmon ladder across the Dam.
We hope to have you home around 20.00.

Pitlochry
The most fantastic day out. It may be a long journey, but it will definitely be a day you will never forget.
Tour Itinerary:
We will pick you up from your Edinburgh hotel at 08.00am and head north towards Inverness. We have given ourselves five hours to travel one of the most iconic Scottish roads so we will have time to stop and enjoy the route.
On the way north we will stop at the House of Bruar and Avimore. On the way south at Pitlochry.
The House of Bruar is Scotland’s premier independent country fashion retailer, bringing together an impressive collection of traditional Tweeds and cashmere garments with the latest in rural style for a unique shopping experience. No trip to Scotland is complete without a visit to The Home of Scottish Country Clothing. There is also a stunning selection of the best in Scottish food and drink in the Food Hall and Delicatessen, with a firm focus on locally sourced goods from small, artisan producers. There is everything from gourmet smoked salmon to their very own exclusive Sloe Gin and Raspberry liqueurs. Maybe an early lunch stop?
We then have a wee stop in Aviemore (maybe a bar lunch at the Old Bridge?)
When we reach Inverness, we will make our way past Culloden Moor to Inverness Airport where your Highland Aviation Piper PA28-161 four seat aircraft will be waiting to take you on an amazing two hour flight over the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. You will fly over Loch Ness and onwards to the Isle of Skye.
Your flight experience comprises:
A 120-minute flight from Inverness Airport.
A warm welcome from Highland Aviation operations team, with light refreshments.
A discussion with your pilot about where you would like to fly, what you would like to see, and whether you would like to take the controls during the flight.
A Pre-flight safety briefing.
Walk around the aircraft with an explanation of where things are and what they do.
Taxi out to the main runway at Inverness Airport in one of our four-seat aeroplanes, and take-off.
Once airborne you have the option to take control of the aircraft or simply enjoy the view.
Throughout your flight your pilot will explain how the aircraft works and will answer any questions you might have.
Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight.
Occasionally weather conditions may prevent us from flying to particular areas or may slow our progress. But rest assured our professional pilots will do whatever they can always to satisfy your requirements whilst prioritising flight safety. Pilots will calculate combined occupant and fuel weight before every flight to ensure operation within the safe operating weight limit.
After your flight we visit Culloden Moor battlefield. Most of our guests find this a very emotional experience. The exhibition Centre may be closed by the time we visit but we still can walk around the battlefield. A wee stop next at Clava Cairns or the Prehistoric Burial Cairns of Bulnuaran of Clava. This is a group of three Bronze Age cairns located near Inverness. A hugely significant and exceptionally well-preserved prehistoric site, Clava Cairns is a fantastic example of the distant history of Highland Scotland, dating back about 4,000 years.
We then start heading south backtracking all the way to Edinburgh. Stopping for supper on route, we hope to have you back at your hotel by 20.00pm.
